How to Get Started with flexidesktop
Welcome to your new flexidesktop! With your personal flexidesktop, you can securely access a Windows 10/11 environment from anywhere using just your web browser. For advanced use or maximum performance, you can also request access via VPN + Microsoft Remote Desktop client.
Here’s what you’ll find in this guide:
- What happens right after purchase — your account and welcome email.
- How to set your password and log in to the Dashboard — no software to install.
- How to manage your flexidesktop — users, plan, remote desktop, storage, backups, reports, and security.
If you haven’t purchased a flexidesktop yet, you can explore our plans here.
What Happens After Purchase?
Once you add a flexidesktop to your cart, complete checkout, and pay by card, your account is created automatically — there’s nothing extra to fill in.
Right after your order is confirmed, you’ll receive a welcome email with a link to set your own password.

Note: If you don’t see the email within a few minutes, please check your spam/junk folder.
How to Set Your Password and Access the Dashboard
Click the link in your welcome email and set your password. Once that’s done, you’re ready to manage your flexidesktop.
Forgot your password? Reset it anytime at flexidesktop.com/my-account/lost-password.
Log In to Your Dashboard
Go to flexidesktop.com and click Dashboard at the top right, then log in with your email and the password you just set.
Inside, you’ll find a summary of your virtual desktops, plus access to manage your account name, payment methods, active subscriptions, and support — all in one place.

Quick Actions: Connect, Reboot, Manage
Next to each flexidesktop in your Dashboard, you’ll see three buttons:
| Button | What it does |
|---|---|
| Connect | Opens a new browser tab with instant access to your virtual desktop |
| Reboot | Restarts your flexidesktop |
| Manage | Opens the full set of settings for that flexidesktop |
Want to give your flexidesktop a name of your own? Click the pencil icon next to its name or ID to rename and personalize it.
Managing Your flexidesktop
Click Manage on any flexidesktop to open its detail view. From here you can control everything about that specific virtual desktop, organized into tabs.
Users
By default, you have one user set up with the same email you signed up with. You can create additional web users who will only have access to this flexidesktop’s desktop — not to account-level features like payment methods or reboot.

When creating a new user, you can choose whether to automatically email them their access details: login URL, username, and password.

Plan
Here you can see your flexidesktop’s real-time CPU and RAM usage, and upgrade to a higher plan whenever you need more resources.

Remote Desktop
From this tab, you can request access via Remote Desktop client. Review is manual and handled by our technical team, so please allow some time for approval.
Once approved, you’ll receive two files: a VPN profile to connect privately using the free WireGuard app, and an RDP file (.rdp) to connect natively to your flexidesktop with Microsoft Remote Desktop.
For the full step-by-step process, see How to Connect to a Remote Desktop Using a VPN.

Storage
Check your flexidesktop’s current disk size, and expand it in 100 GB increments whenever you need more room.

Backups
See the list of available backups for your flexidesktop. Backups run automatically once a day, scheduled during off-peak hours to avoid any impact on performance. If something goes wrong, you can restore your flexidesktop to any previous backup from this tab.

Reports
View the full connection history for your flexidesktop — both web and Remote Desktop sessions — and export it to a CSV file whenever you need it.

Security
Available on M plans and above, this tab helps you track security-related activity on your flexidesktop, including:
- Files flagged as potential malware
- Login events
- Known vulnerabilities in installed software
- Compliance-related events for HIPAA, PCI DSS, NIST 800-53, GDPR, TSC, and GPG13

Contact Support →FAQ
I lost my password, how can I reset it?
Use the “Forgot password?” link on your login page, or go directly to flexidesktop.com/my-account/lost-password.
Can I install my own software?
Yes, you have administrator rights on your flexidesktop.
How do I upgrade resources (RAM, CPU, storage)?
Go to My Desktops → Manage → Plan and click Upgrade plan. For extra disk space, use the Storage tab instead — it lets you add capacity in 100 GB increments.
How do I create additional users for my flexidesktop?
Go to Manage → Users and add a new user. Additional users only get access to the desktop itself — not to billing or account settings. You can choose to automatically email them their login URL, username, and password.
How do I request Remote Desktop (RDP) access?
Go to Manage → Remote Desktop and submit your request. Approval is manual, so allow some time for our technical team to review it. Once approved, you’ll get a VPN profile and an .rdp file to connect. See our full step-by-step guide for details.
How often are backups made, and can I restore an old one?
Backups run automatically once a day during off-peak hours. You can restore your flexidesktop to any previous backup from Manage → Backups.
What is the Security tab and who can use it?
It’s available on M plans and above, and tracks malware detections, login events, known software vulnerabilities, and compliance events for standards like HIPAA, PCI DSS, NIST 800-53, GDPR, TSC, and GPG13.
